Stainless Steel Pipe Repair Clamp for Pipeline Leak Repair

LEEVOA PIPE supplies stainless steel pipe repair clamps for localized pipeline leaks, holes, corrosion damage and other limited pipe defects. Available configurations use SS304 or SS316 shells with EPDM, NBR and optional gasket materials for different piping and operating requirements.

What Is a Pipe Repair Clamp?

A pipe repair clamp is a mechanical repair device installed around an existing pipe to seal a localized leaking or damaged section. The clamp uses a stainless steel shell and an internal rubber sealing element. When the fasteners are tightened, the applied force compresses the gasket against the pipe surface to form a seal around the affected area.

This type of repair solution can be used for localized leaks, holes, cracks, corrosion damage and other limited pipe defects where the selected clamp provides sufficient coverage and is compatible with the pipe dimensions and operating conditions.

Materials and Gasket Options

Stainless Steel Shell

The repair clamp shell is available in stainless steel 304 or 316 for corrosion resistance in pipeline repair environments.

EPDM Gasket

-30°C to +130°C

Suitable for water, wastewater, air and other compatible media.

NBR Gasket

-25°C to +100°C

Suitable for natural gas, oil, fuel and compatible hydrocarbon media.

Optional Gasket Materials

HNBR, MVQ and FPM are also available for applications requiring alternative sealing materials.

How a Pipe Repair Clamp Seals a Leak

The repair clamp is positioned around the damaged section so that the gasket and clamp body extend beyond the affected area. Tightening the fasteners converts the clamping force into radial compression on the internal sealing gasket.

The compressed gasket forms a seal against the external pipe surface while the stainless steel shell provides mechanical support around the repair area.

Position

Center the repair zone within the clamp sealing area.

Wrap

Install the stainless steel clamp body around the existing pipe.

Tighten

Tighten the fastening system according to the applicable product specification to compress the gasket and create the seal.

Can a Pipe Repair Clamp Stop a Leak Under Pressure?

Applicable repair clamp configurations can be used to seal localized pipeline leaks under pressure without replacing the affected pipe section. Whether an under-pressure repair is appropriate depends on the clamp configuration, pipe condition, defect size, operating pressure, medium and installation procedure.

Project operating conditions should therefore be confirmed before selecting a clamp for an under-pressure repair.

What Pipe Materials Can Repair Clamps Be Used On?

Available repair clamp configurations can be used with a range of existing pipe materials, including cast iron, ductile iron, steel, PVC, copper, coated and galvanized pipe.

Compatibility should be checked against the actual pipe outside diameter, pipe surface, selected gasket and operating conditions rather than nominal DN alone.

Pipe Repair Clamp Applications

Water Supply Networks

Localized leak and damage repair in water transmission and distribution pipelines.

Wastewater & Sewage Systems

Mechanical repair of suitable damaged sections in wastewater and sewage pipelines.

Irrigation Systems

Pipeline maintenance and localized repair in irrigation and water distribution networks.

Municipal Pipeline Maintenance

Repair solutions for existing municipal water and utility piping.

Industrial Pipelines

Localized pipeline repair where the clamp materials, gasket and operating conditions are compatible with the application.

Gas & Hydrocarbon Service

NBR and other suitable gasket configurations can be considered for compatible natural gas, oil, fuel and hydrocarbon applications.

How to Select a Pipe Repair Clamp

1. Measure the Actual Pipe OD

Provide the actual outside diameter whenever possible. Repair clamps must match the physical pipe diameter, and nominal DN alone may not be sufficient.

2. Identify the Pipe Material

Specify whether the existing pipe is steel, ductile iron, cast iron, PVC, copper or another material.

3. Measure the Damaged Area

Provide the approximate length and width of the leak, crack, hole or corroded section so sufficient sealing coverage can be selected.

4. Confirm Operating Conditions

Provide working pressure, medium and temperature so the clamp and gasket configuration can be reviewed.

5. Confirm Quantity and Project Requirements

Include required quantity, destination and any special size, material or packaging requirements.

For faster quotation: send the actual pipe OD, pipe material, defect dimensions, working pressure, medium, temperature and required quantity.

Standard and project-specific pipe repair clamp configurations are available according to pipe dimensions and application requirements.

  • Custom pipe diameter
  • Custom clamp length
  • SS304 or SS316 shell
  • EPDM / NBR / optional gasket materials

Pipe Repair Clamp FAQ

What is a pipe repair clamp used for?

A pipe repair clamp is used to seal localized pipeline leakage and damage such as holes, cracks, corrosion or other limited defects by mechanically compressing a sealing gasket around the affected section.

What materials are available for the clamp shell?

Stainless steel 304 and 316 shell options are available.

What gasket materials are available?

EPDM and NBR are standard options, with HNBR, MVQ and FPM available for specific application requirements.

What size pipe repair clamps are available?

The listed standard single-clip series covers DN25 to DN500, with pipe OD ranges from approximately 33 mm to 533 mm. Other sizes and clamp lengths can be produced according to project requirements.

Can a pipe repair clamp be installed without welding?

Yes. The listed repair clamp designs use a mechanical bolted fastening system and do not require welding.

Can the clamp repair a pipe while it is under pressure?

Applicable configurations can support under-pressure leak repair, but suitability depends on pipe condition, defect dimensions, operating pressure, medium and installation requirements.

Why should I provide actual pipe OD instead of only DN?

Repair clamps seal against the external surface of the existing pipe, so the actual outside diameter is important for selecting the correct clamping range.

Can LEEVOA PIPE supply custom sizes?

Yes. Custom diameters and clamp lengths can be supplied according to project requirements.
